God has allowed us to see his great works in marriage enrichment throughout our years and it is certainly a passion for Russell and myself.   We have all too often seen people we love and care deeply about devastated by divorce and by major problems in their marriages.   And like all other couples, we struggle from time to time in our marriage, as well.   So, after several years of talking back and forth about marriage events, we decided to bring one to our home town – I mean, where better since we live in a resort town, right?

So, we are pleased to present the Adore Marriage conference in Myrtle Beach on March 4th through the 6th.   The conference will be at the Hampton Inn and Suites Oceanfront, located at 18th Avenue on Ocean Boulevard.   We are very happy that Eddie and Janet Thompson have agreed to come and lead the teaching portion of the weekend.   Eddie and Janet are amazing people who we met through retreats where we led worship at Fort Caswell in North Carolina.   These two share an amazing passion for marriage and work full time for the North Carolina Baptist  Association leading marriage retreats to bring couples closer to Christ and to each other.

We would certainly invite you to come for this wonderful weekend of marriage enrichment.   For more information, see the event website at www.adoremarriage.com or call the Adore Marriage information line at (843) 560-9449.   The cost for the conference is $149 through February 4 and we have discounted room rates through the same date.

Next week we will be traveling to the Southeast Conclave in Chattanooga, TN. We are excited to be exhibiting at the event, which is a conference and training event for youth ministers and their teams throughout the South. Our prayer is to meet and speak with a lot of new people and hopefully discover some new opportunities for ministry for ourselves. If you or your youth team is going to be at the Conclave, please come by and see us at booth number 329 in the exhibit hall.

I thought I would write something this Christmas that would hopefully encourage you and inspire you to really seek out the true wonder and awe of Christmas…then I stumbled upon this. I know…God sent this to me! Please read this and be encouraged to pause…to ponder…to wonder…to praise the only One Who is worthy! Merry Christmas!!  ~Kristi

“Heart Revolution,” released in June 2010 is the latest album by Russell and Kristi. With six original songs, the couple hopes that this album will connect with the hearts of people and with the heart of God. It is a departure from their past albums and shares a little about what God has been teaching them over the past few years. One of the original songs, written by Kristi, “Just For Who I Am,” is a soulful ballad that expresses God loves us for who we are, despite our everyday challenges and struggles. Another original, “Great Are You, Lord,” written by Russell is a declaration about God’s grace and our redemption.

All music is available through iTunes and DigStation, but merchandise (t-shirts, posters and stickers) is available online.

To celebrate the fall season, Russell and Kristi have “Fan Exclusive Packages” available on the following page until October 31, 2010.

We just got back from another trip out of town – Nashville, actually.  I love that place.  It’s so beautiful, especially this time of year, and we have so many friends there.  It was nice to catch up with a few of them while in town.

Our children, Will and Sidney, just started school a couple of weeks ago, just like most kids in the US.  They go to a University Model School, which means they only go to school on Tuesdays and Thursdays and do homework on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.  Where was that when I was growing up you ask??  I know, me too!!  Anyway, this allows for a lot of flexibility with their school schedules and our ministry schedule.  However, September has been extremely busy for us and fourth grade is much more strenuous and time-consuming for Will than was his third grade year.  That being said, we are struggling somewhat to get our schedules to mesh like they have in the past.  Well, these things, coupled with other just as weighty things have been consuming my thoughts.  I was really struggling this morning with how to juggle it all and how to not make our children feel slighted, when I called out to God the simple, but powerful, prayer of Proverbs 3:5-6:  “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.” (more…)
